“CodeVA Connect” Terms of Service
The CodeVA Connect site (“Site”) is provided to you as a public service and without charge in support of our mission to bring equitable computer science education to all of Virginia’s students. Your use of this Site acknowledges acceptance of the following terms and conditions (“Terms”) of use which apply to CodeVA Connect.

Your use of your own personally identifiable information including your name, school division, state region, teaching content area and grade level provides Users opportunities to build community, network and grow computer science knowledge.

- is hateful or discriminatory based on race, color, sex, gender, religion, nationality, ethnic or national origin, marital
- status, disability, sexual orientation or age or is otherwise objectionable
infringes, violates or misappropriates any third party's intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights or contractual rights - is misleading, deceptive or fraudulent or otherwise illegal or promotes illegal activities
is libelous or defamatory, or in a way that is otherwise threatening, abusive, violent, harassing, malicious or harmful - to any person or entity, or invasive of another's privacy
constitutes or contains any form of advertising, solicitation, spamming, or other activities including but not limited to personal businesses, services or enterprises - impersonates any other person, or falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity, or to obtain access to this Site without authorization
Ensuring Student Privacy
CodeVA is firmly committed to protecting online privacy including the online privacy of your students. To ensure your student’s privacy when uploading User Content, you agree to not include any identifiable student information, educational records or images directly related to a student. This includes (1) direct identifiers (such as a student’s name, identification number or revealing a student’s face in photographic or video content) and (2) indirect identifiers (such as a student’s age, class period, or other information including biometric data such as handwriting which can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity either directly or indirectly through linkages with other information) (“Student’s Personal Information”).
CodeVA is firmly committed to protecting online privacy including the online privacy of your students. If you accidentally include any Student’s Personal Information, please contact us at moderator@codevirginia.org so we may remove this User Content. If our site moderator identifies instances where we determine that a student’s privacy could be compromised, we reserve the right to remove the content without permission from the user.
Use of Data
In accordance with our mission to scale high quality computer science education across Virginia, CodeVA engages independent third parties (“Evaluators”) to evaluate our work. You grant CodeVA and its Evaluators the right to use anonymized data including User Content from this Site in educational research and evaluation activities including presentations, reports and other dissemination activities in perpetuity.

Ownership of User Content
By submitting or distributing User Content through the Site, you give CodeVA the perpetual, nonexclusive, transferable, royalty-free right to:

- use and disclose metrics and analytics regarding the User Content in an aggregate or other anonymized manner (including, for use of our Evaluators, in improving our Site or other marketing, business development purposes)
- use any de-identified User Content for any lawful purpose (such as product development, product research or other purposes)
Additionally, when you upload or create User Content, you are making it available to other Users and you are allowing others to access and use that information and to associate it with you. By submitting or distributing User Content through the Site, you hereby grant to each user of the Site a nonexclusive, transferable, royalty-free right and license to use, reproduce, perform, modify and create derivatives works from your User Content.
Your Privacy
CodeVA is committed to protecting your privacy as explained in our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully.
Access to Our Site
Access to our Site is permitted on a temporary basis. Occasionally, we may restrict access to some spaces, or the entirety of, our Site. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the site and your access to the site without notice.
Suspension or Termination of Services
We may stop your use of our Site, or remove User Content you’ve uploaded, at any time, including, but not limited to, notification that you have breached our Terms.

CodeVA, Digital Dominion, and others are either trademarks or registered trademarks of CodeVA. Other product and company names mentioned on this Site may be trademarks of their respective owners.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE INFORMATION ON THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS," "AS AVAILABLE"
BASIS. YOU AGREE THAT USE OF THIS SITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. CODEVA
DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES, STATUTORY WARRANTIES, AND ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE EXTENT YOUR JURISDICTION DOES NOT

CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SITE AND/OR CONTENT IS TO CEASE ALL OF YOUR SITE USE.

Site as soon as they go into effect. By accessing the Site after we make any such changes to these Terms, you are deemed to have accepted such changes. Please refer back to these Terms on a regular basis.
USE OF THIS SITE SIGNIFIES YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE TERMS OF SERVICE.
